Walking up to the target I could not believe my eyes! Arrow no.2 penetrated arrow no.1. Unbelievable! To top it all off, arrow 3 and 4 nearly did the same!
Upon arrival with the guests, PH Adrian, an avid archer himself, told me that this is called a "Robin Hood." The moment was shared with our guests and I am saving the arrows to be mounted at some stage. I will just have to replace them now seeing that there are only three arrows left to practice with.
Thinking about it after a while, I concluded that this could not have been pure luck or a fluke as arrow 3 and 4 "fitted" into each other and the Robin Hood was nearly repeated as both shots were that close.
I could of course not wait to tell my tutor and think that there was an element of surprise on the other side of the telephone when we spoke. In the days after this it happened often that I shot two arrows into the same spot and at times the one arrow "popped" the other out of it's spot.
My goal of moving up to 20 m while on the farm was achieved and is my current shooting distance. All this in week 12 since starting....Phumba's (ref. Lion King) you better beware in August as you are going to end up in a pot as fried bacon!......
