"Some have returned. One such boy, Alfred, or "Gorilla", as he is affectionately called by us, has come and gone no less than five times in the past eighteen months! He is dependent on alcohol and the seriousness of his crimes have escalated with each new trip to the streets. The poor circumstances in which these children find themselves drives them to seek an illusive fantasy world.
We have a vision for the shelter - we want to see it turned into a home! We believe that the building should be completely renovated and that a husband and wife should provide management and control over the home. Most of all, the home should be a loving environment in which their emotional, spiritual and physical needs will be taken care of. This will instill pride in the home and themselves."
Status report:
All Stars shelter learned recently that the building they have been using has been put up for sale, which will lead to the children living on the streets again. A non-profit organization with a fund raising number is available should anyone wish to make a contribution to save the shelter.
Please contact us, should you wish to make a contribution. |
